Quality Technicians

Location: Nova Scotia & Quebec, Canada (multiple wind farm and port locations)

Contract Length: 12 months initially

Work Pattern: 6 days per week (Mon–Sat), 8-hour standard day, up to 10 hours/day. 

High travel role (90-100%).


Overview

We are looking for experienced Quality Technicians / Site Quality Leads to support wind farm construction projects across Eastern Canada. The individual will act as the onsite representative of the Quality Manager and take ownership of all quality-related activities on site.


Key Responsibilities

Lead onsite quality activities during wind farm construction.

Manage and track NCRs, escalating critical issues where required.

Conduct and coordinate first article inspections/audits.

Ensure quality procedures and IMS processes are followed.

Act as the main quality contact for Site Management, contractors and external stakeholders.

Monitor inspector performance and staffing requirements.

Produce quality reports and site documentation.

Drive a strong quality and safety culture onsite.


Essential Requirements

Fluent English and French (bilingual required).

Experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control.

Strong documentation and reporting skills.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.

Construction site experience.

Full driving licence.

Eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship.

Comfortable working at heights (up to 100m) and within wind turbine environments.


Preferred Experience

Wind turbine assembly / wind farm construction experience.

ASQ Certification.

ISO Auditor certification.

Degree in Engineering or Technical discipline (or equivalent experience).

3+ years relevant experience.

Upvise experience beneficial.


Equipment / Logistics

Candidate must provide:

Pickup truck / 4x4 vehicle (equivalent to Ford F150).

Laptop.

Smartphone with good camera.

Mobile reception device.


Training & Certifications

Must have valid certifications before mobilisation, including:

First Aid/CPR.

Site Safety Orientation.

Working at Heights / Climb & Rescue (where applicable).

NFPA70E or CSA Z462 electrical safety training (if working in turbines).

Appropriate PPE and arc-rated clothing.

Biggest challenge: finding genuinely bilingual (French/English) QA/QC professionals with wind farm construction experience who are willing to travel extensively across Nova Scotia and Quebec.
